Join Local 1010 LECET, Cornell ILR, and industry leaders on Sept 29th for a first look at a Cornell University ILR School study using a real, on-the-ground example: NYC Parks & Recreation's street tree planting program. The researchers set out to answer a tough question: is a PLA actually feasible for this kind of work? And the answer is a resounding yes. Their findings show a PLA here wouldn't just keep things running smoothly for the agency but it would also deliver real wins across the board: better outcomes for the city, stronger contracts for the firms doing the work, and better pay and conditions for the workers on the ground.

After the presentation, there will be a lively panel discussion featuring NYC Comptroller Mark Levine, Santos Rodriguez (Chief of Staff, Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York), James Versocki (Partner, Archer, Byington, Glennon & Levine LLP) and Rusty Weaver (Director of Research, ILR Buffalo Co-Lab) who will dig into what it would actually take to bring more PLAs to publicly funded projects, and how to clear the roadblocks standing in the way.
