Earlier this week, 1010 LECET engaged NYC MWBEs & small business owners at the NYS Projects Pop-Up Series, hosted by NYC Empire State Development in the Bronx! Here we had the opportunity to connect with business owners, contractors, and community members about opportunities in the heavy and highway construction industry.

Throughout the event, we discussed the many benefits of becoming a signatory contractor with Local 1010, including access to a highly skilled union workforce, competitive training, and opportunities to grow and compete on public infrastructure projects.

We were also excited to showcase our MWBE Contractor Directory, which highlights more than 70 Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) contractors that have collective bargaining agreements with Local 1010 and are thriving as union contractors. Their success demonstrates that union partnerships can help MWBE businesses grow, strengthen their workforce, and expand opportunities throughout the heavy and highway construction industry.
